Anyone else had an ear piercing squeal from the plastic shroud around the steering wheel shaft? This is a plastic to steel rub situation that generates a loud squeal.

There is no seal. It's simply a hole in the plastic rubbing the steering wheel shaft. I've used grease. But if this doesn't work again. I will clean it off and try silicone. Thanks.

Actually I think the two halves of the shroud are resonating and I don't think the hole/shaft rub is the actual problem. I might try a silicone film between the two plastic halves to act as a dampener. It's very loud.
